About Us
HIGHLY TRAINED TUTORS ACTIVELY ENGAGE STUDENTS, LEADING THEM TO DISCOVER THE ANSWERS THEMSELVES
Over the past 20 years, Ignite Learning has helped more than 1800 students achieve awesome school grades without suffering late-night, last-minute stress with assignments and exams.
Unlike many tutors who provide generic instructions without taking time to really understand what each student needs (the tutor just turns up and asks, “So, what do you need help with today?”), we talk with each student BEFORE their session and tailor lesson plans to bridge specific skill gaps and learning goals. Taking this extra time builds rapport and trust, leading to more engaging, effective and enjoyable tutoring sessions.
And while many tutors are more like passive course facilitators who supply answers to questions, our carefully chosen, highly trained tutors actively engage students, leading them to discover the answers themselves. This active approach gives your child:
A deeper understanding and enjoyment of the subject matter
Improved retention and recall under high-pressure exam conditions
And greater application and enjoyment of their newfound knowledge
Our proven 3-step method includes:

WHILE FOLLOWING PASSION & LOVE FOR TEACHING
In-Centre Private Tutoring
Private tutoring is a highly effective way for students to receive personalised attention and support in their academic studies.
Online Private Tutoring
Offering flexibility and accessibility for both students and tutors
Student Mentoring
Student mentoring is a valuable relationship where an experienced and knowledgeable individual guides and supports a student in their personal and academic development
Is the tutoring private?
Yes, all of our lessons are one-to-one with the student and tutor, unless you request a group lesson.
Will I always have the same tutor?
We endeavour to keep the same tutor for the duration of the student's journey with us, and majority of the time, this is achieved. If a rare change in tutor does occur due to unforeseen circumstances, we will ensure the handover is dealt with smoothly and the student remains supported/communicated with.
How are tutors selected?
Our rigorous selection process is overseen by teachers with 18+ years professional teaching experience. All successful tutors will have received exceptional results themselves in the NSW curriculum for the subjects they teach, so are able to support students with holistic learning needs such as study skills, exam technique and time management. In addition, they are fully trained and supported by a team of highly experienced teachers. On average, about 2% of tutors who apply to Ignite Your Learning are accepted on the team, so we can ensure your being tutored by the best of the best.
Are you across the requirements for the NSW Syllabus?
All our tutors are highly experienced with the requirements of the current NSW school syllabus. In addition, for subjects such as English where text requirements change between every different school, tutors have full access to a range of professionally developed resources to ensure that their teaching meets the specific needs of the students they are working with.
What updates do parents receive about their children's progress?
Parents receive a comprehensive update on student's progress every two weeks. In this report, parents are informed of what was covered in each lesson, how well homework is being completed, and what areas tutors will be focusing on to ensure that students are well prepared for their assessments and examinations. Parents have full access to speak to tutors or management at any time if they have any questions or requests regarding their child's learning.
We’ll happily answer any further questions when we get in touch.
If the matter is urgent and you’d like to speak sooner, feel free to call us on 0421 422 722 or call our Centre Manager on 02 8040 4243.
